Qualification Overview

This qualification reflects the role of workers in the community and/or residential setting who follow an individualised plan to provide person-centered support to people who may require support due to ageing, disability or some other reason.

Work involves using discretion and judgement in relation to individual support as well as taking responsibility for own outputs. Workers have a range of actual, technical and procedural knowledge, as well as some theoretical knowledge of the concepts and practices required to provide person-centered support. To achieve this qualification, the candidate must have completed at least 120 hours of work as detailed in the Assessment Requirements of the units of competency. 

No licensing, legislative, regulatory or certification requirements apply to this qualification at the time of publication.

Entry Requirements

There are certain prerequisites which must be satisfied before enrolment in this course:

o Applicants will be required to complete an ACSF language, literacy and numeracy (LLN)assessment

o Working With Children Check (WWCC)

o NDIS Worker Check

Government funded applicants
ACDCS currently is unable to offer government subsidised training.

Currently applications for government subsidised training are before the NSW skills funding authority and pending this application NSW applicants will be updated and notice on this website.

Unique Student Identifier (USI)
A Unique Student Identifier (USI) is required for Participants undertaking nationally recognized training (qualifications, accredited courses, skill sets and units of competency) unless exempt.

This includes international Participants studying in Australia. If you don't have a USI you will not receive your qualification or statement of attainment.
